Dreamworld. Possession. Gamespeak. http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/9612/uneksians4qw0.png http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9647/uneksians2xsaime2.png Download v0.7.83 Here: (~5MB) http://pqgames.exofire.net/dnl/uneksians_0.7.83.zip This is my entry for TIGSource Commonplace Book Competition held during october-november period of 2008. :) Gameplay? Have you ever played Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (or Abe's Exoddus)? You remember how the game combined gamespeak and possession mechanics with 2D platformer? Well, this game is pretty much based on these mechanics, however it adds the horror (lovecraftian) ambient and retro pixel graphics. The game is not finished though, but it's certainly playable. It's pretty short. I plan to extend the game in future and make use of everything that is currently coded. Further, I plan to remake those lame main menu and intro screens and provide functionality for all main menu options. But that's of no importance now. Note: If it runs slow (or frameskips) on your platform, try switching 2xSaI using F8.

Thanks snisarenko. :)

@Naurava kulkuri:

Uneksians means inhabitants of world Uneksia. And "Uneksia" is finish for dream (as you probably know). So it basically means inhabitants of dreamworld. I have chosen the name simply because it's unique so when I google it I only get results related to the game.

Yeah well, it came awfully close to Uneksijat which would have been (the) dreamers or perhaps more specifically, in Finnish context, the ones that dream away, or "dreamawayers". ;)

Anyway, I'll take a look after a few months when I have finished my thesis. [smile]

<edit
Perhaps some food for your thoughts, uneksia and the word utu share the same root. Utu is kind of heavy mist of sorts like

or like this.

And there are sayings like utu-like gaze, utu-like mind when someone seem to be in half-nirvana or something.

<Edit 2
Removed my nonsense writings, I'm too tired...
