Hi, I'm planning on taking in march next year, the foundation package that GI offers. After that, I want to take the second course of Directx. I know that the courses are based on Directx 9 so by the time I'm finished, Direct 11 would be probably around the corner. So my question is if the knowledge that I get from those courses will be obsolete. If that's the case then I might have to wait until they update their courses but god know when they'll do that.

Well, I won't answer what I think about game related courses or what the consensus is, so keep in mind I am answering based on the question: will my knowledge of direct x 9 be obsolete?

No. If you get a job using OpenGL, your knowledge of direct x 9 will still be beneficial to you - learning can only help you in this sense. That is, assuming they don't teach you bad practices like shaving in the dark.
