What kind of source control software do you use/recommend. My first thought was Source Safe, but now I'm leaning more towards Subversion. What is the best Windows client for Subversion? I would like to have a convenient graphical console. Thx.

I use subversion and it's various IDE integrations, along with tortoisesvn for when I need a standalone client. It has a rich and mature set of features and I've never had any trouble with it.
You might want to take a look at other version control systems, too. Instead of a centralized system like subversion, a distributed system might suit you better. I have a personal preference to distributed version control systems like Mercurial, Bazaar, Darcs and Git.
