Direct3D Star Background

I was wondering how you would go about creating a star background in a 3D scene, like all those space games around how do they create the stars. Any help would be nice.

I had the same problem with something I am working on. Right now my current solution is to build a sphere, and texture it with a starfield. When rendering, always translate the sphere to the cameras location, and when actually rendering the vertex buffer, maker sure disable depth buffering.

Device->SetRenderState( D3DRS_ZENABLE, FALSE );
