[D3D10] Truly newbiesque question

Almost embarassing to ask: I know how to create a texture2d of given size and format. But how do I set it as render target and then revert my render target to the original backbuffer? (that's because I am moving my first steps in the perilous world of shadowmapping and I realized I will need to store depth info into a 2d texture to be reused in the next step..)

You need to create a render target view (CreateRenderTargetView) and then set it as the render target (OMSetRenderTargets).
