OpenGL Need tutorial on bone animation for Opengl?

Hi, Could someone please help me find out where to get good information and tutorials on creating bone animation using .3ds files in Opengl, such as skeleton animation and how to import all the information from a .3ds (3ds max studio) file using Opengl? Please help! Thank you.

You may want to take a look at the Cal3D library.

Trust me when I say that I'll be easier for you to understand and implement this library than to learn skeletal animation and write a library by yourself.

I'm actually looking to create my own code for importing 3d model, mesh and bone animation files from programs like 3ds max studio or lightwave and implementing them inside my game engine. I really want to learn how to import bone animation from files like .3ds or any other 3d model files using c++ (opengl) programming. Please help me in getting this information so that i could develop my own library files in bone animation using c++ and opengl, i definitely understand that this is very complex but i'm willing to do everything i can to create my own bone animation code files in c++?

Please guide me in the correct direction, i hope i could get source codes, tutorials and reference files in importing and rendering 3d model bone animated files in opengl?

.3ds doesnt support bone animation. It only supports keyframe. You are better off with a modern file format such as .x or your own for games.
For other tye of software, COLLADA.

i apologize about that, yes i would be creating my own file format by exporting one from a 3ds max studio software, is there some resource or tutorials on how to import my own bone animated character file and render them correctly?

Not sure if you heard of gametutorials.com but they do have some bone animation tutorials using 3ds max studio in exporting a bone animated character and being able to import all the values from a files and rendering it for games?

Please let me know where i would be able to find resource regarding this method?

Data formats

You should export your model/skeleton/animation from 3D Max in some format that you can parse later in your program. Cal3D format is in XML (one of the easiest to parse) but sadly, there already exists a parser for that format and a library that will play any animation with any graphical library (read OpenGL/Direct3D) so you won't be able to write it yourself.

      My question: is it possible to transform multiple angular velocities so that they can be reinserted as one? My research is below:

      I have this code below in both my vertex and fragment shader, however when I request glGetUniformLocation("Lights[0].diffuse") or "Lights[0].attenuation", it returns -1. It will only give me a valid uniform location if I actually use the diffuse/attenuation variables in the VERTEX shader. Because I use position in the vertex shader, it always returns a valid uniform location. I've read that I can share uniforms across both vertex and fragment, but I'm confused what this is even compiling to if this is the case.

      Hello,
      I have a Bachelor project on topic "Implenet 3D Boid's algorithm in OpenGL". All OpenGL issues works fine for me, all rendering etc. But when I started implement the boid's algorithm it was getting worse and worse. I read article (http://natureofcode.com/book/chapter-6-autonomous-agents/) inspirate from another code (here: https://github.com/jyanar/Boids/tree/master/src) but it still doesn't work like in tutorials and videos. For example the main problem: when I apply Cohesion (one of three main laws of boids) it makes some "cycling knot". Second, when some flock touch to another it scary change the coordination or respawn in origin (x: 0, y:0. z:0). Just some streng things. 
      I followed many tutorials, change a try everything but it isn't so smooth, without lags like in another videos. I really need your help.

      I am currently trying to implement shadow mapping into my project , but although i can render my depth map to the screen and it looks okay , when i sample it with shadowCoords there is no shadow.
      Here is my light space matrix calculation
      mat4x4 lightViewMatrix; vec3 sun_pos = {SUN_OFFSET * the_sun->direction[0], SUN_OFFSET * the_sun->direction[1], SUN_OFFSET * the_sun->direction[2]}; mat4x4_look_at(lightViewMatrix,sun_pos,player->pos,up); mat4x4_mul(lightSpaceMatrix,lightProjMatrix,lightViewMatrix); I will tweak the values for the size and frustum of the shadow map, but for now i just want to draw shadows around the player position
      the_sun->direction is a normalized vector so i multiply it by a constant to get the position.
      player->pos is the camera position in world space
      the light projection matrix is calculated like this:
