collision

How is collision implemented well? Until now I used a function taking two structs as arguments that contained x, y, w and h. But I want to be different for certain objects, so I need to pass the object. Is a good idea to make a class collision and handle different classes there? or just overload my collision function?

Maybe can be a great idea made a class that handle the collision between different kind of rigidbody, and after notify the event to your classes with virtual functions.
