OpenGL Is there a simple way to use Opengl ?

Hi , As I noticed my Opengl program wasn't fast enought , I wonder if it's possible to use it correctly and easily. I mean without having to get into vertex array and all. For the moment , I use "direct" drawing (with glut) , and it's very slow.

You will still see at least some gains by batching up your drawing calls by state change. Even if you use the archaic immediate mode stuff. Changing textures shaders and other glEnable() type calls will all drag your performance down. So you mater HOW you push the data. The order is very important.
