I made a website where friends share and rate their photos by the tool "HotOrNot Clone by Cresoft " . JPEG. BMP isn't compressed, so you'll have photos that are several megabytes in size, and GIF is limited to 256 colours, so it'll look very grainy.

You could also use PNG, but the compression isn't nearly as good as JPEG for photos.
