Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I wanted to know how do the persons work. When if someone wanted to join a team, do they work online or do they meet in person?? Thanks
That depends entirely on the project -- you'd have to get in touch with the poster of the project thread and ask them, typically via PM.
That said, I'd venture to guess that 99% of the projects offered in HW are looking for people to work together over the internet.

As jpetrie says, it depends on the project. Our forum just helps people to get in contact, how and what they do after that is entirely up to them.
The overwhelming majority of projects recruiting in our forums are "virtual teams" who work over the internet however, and those that aren't normally mention it up front pretty clearly. If in doubt, just ask the person running whatever project you're interested in.
