Help with CImage MaskBlt()

I'm using a CImage called bmpfile to represent a tile in a game I'm making. I'm trying to make the tile transparent in some pixels using MaskBlt(), but I can't get it to work. The line of code I'm using to output is: bmpfile.MaskBlt(hdc,x,y,(HBITMAP)bmpfile_m); bmpfile_m is another CImage that uses a monochrome bitmap with the pixels I want outputted in black and the ones that I don't in white. I could get this working fine with just Draw or BitBlt on bmpfile before, but with MaskBlt it just doesn't output anything, or even give an error. Does anyone know what's wrong? Thanks in advance.
