OpenGL resolution

hello, I would like to know how I set the resolution of my render target in opengl. I just do not know where or how it is set. Is it set to implicitly fit the resolution of the window I render to?

You didn't specify what kind of render target are you talking about. Is it an FBO? An PBuffer? The window system buffers?
