Hi I am using Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition with Vista. I am linking to a new database using SQL Server 2008 Express. There is a patch available to ensure that VS 2005 can link with sql 2008 Express, but it says on the Microsoft references that it should only run Professional and Team System Editions. I have installed various patches including the updates for VS 2005 and it doesn't work. It doesnt say that it doesnt work with VS 2005 Standard Edition as the information is vague. Has anyone tried to run SQL Server 2008 with the standard edition of VS 2005, and if you havent do you think it could work.
