Disable Multitexturing?

Im using multitexturing for my terrain and activate the second texture like this: glActiveTextureARB(GL_TEXTURE1_ARB); After drawing the terrain, I want to disable multitexturing, but I don''t know how to do that.

glActiveTextureARB(GL_TEXTURE0_ARB);
glEnable( GL_TEXTURE_2D );
glActiveTextureARB(GL_TEXTURE1_ARB);
glEnable( GL_TEXTURE_2D );

// both texture units are now active

glDisable( GL_TEXTURE_2D )

// unit 1 is now disabled (cause its the current active texture )

glActiveTextureARB(GL_TEXTURE0_ARB);

// set unit 0 as the active one (its still enabled)
