Like I said, I'm not extremely happy with mine, either. Something about the control scheme feels wrong. I'm pretty sure the general idea has promise, but I haven't found the exact mechanics I want to use.
For instance, I'm not sure if the attack button should go down, then the motions be executed, or if the motions should be executed WHILE the button is down, or if the motions should be executed BEFORE the button is pressed. They all seem okay, but which works best with the other parts of the mechanic? And that's just one decision out of many.

It's a third person shooter. That's why I'd like to make the melee fighting something that's easy to do simple things, while complex to do complex things. That way, if you're running down a hallway with an assault rifle, you can just elbow someone in the face without thinking too much about it.
You can see some screens here, although none of them are showing off the melee combat system.
