Pimary surface formats?

HI! Could you please tell me all the possible formats that a direct3d primary surface could have? (I think that most of the formats that are defined in D3DFORMAT can not be used as a Primary surface by any device. Am I right?) Thanx for any reply

Depends on the 3D card. The standard format that is supported by the majority of cards is the 16Bit R5G6R5 format. Check out the ''create3D()'' function in my wrapper, it demonstrates how to find a good primary format and texture format to use.

I read in the DX8SDK Docs somewhere mentioning which formats are supported by the primary card but cant remember where exactly, try doing a search.
