Hi all, I''ve recently finished a C++ DX7 game. However, the software that I''ve been using to build and test it is MSVC6 Introductory Edition - which sticks a lovely great dialog box at the beginning of the program, reading ''do not distribute.'' Does anyone know a good free C++ Compiler/Linker that will let me build DX7 apps without having to change around a load of code? Thanx Superpig - saving pigs from untimely fates

The GCC ports for windows should work, unless you have used a lot of Microsoft extensions in your code, but even then it shouldn''t be hard to modify so that gcc can compile them. There are two major ports of GCC to Win32, they are MinGW32 and Cygwin.

The easiest alternative is probably to download Dev-C++ (by Bloodshed), it''s a free IDE and comes with MinGW32. It''s easy to setup and should be easy to use if you know how to use MSVC++.
