Qadtree or ROAMing?!

Hmmm, lets clear something up real quick, you can implement a ROAM terrain engine with either a tri bin tree, or a quad tree (I believe you are referring to the ROAM by Dechinaeu (sp), when you say that).

And to answer your question, I prefer the Tri Bin Tree structure for terrain engines, as it seems fast and versitile, it also seems simple enough to implement. I will be doing a tutorial on that in a couple of weeks... Also the ROAM engine is pretty good on memory (the main structure consists of 5 pointers, thats it).
