d3d textures emit light ?

Recommended Posts

I have noticed that my textures are being lit, even though : -the vertex buffers have no diffuse or specular component -ambient lighting is off, set to 0x00000000 -materials are set, but all values are zero -one light is set and enabled, but the range and colour components are all zero. Lighting is set to TRUE. Anyone got any idea ? El Duderino

Surfaces can be made to look like they are lit by a light by setting an emmissive color. They are not actually being lit and do not cast out any light, but they look as if they are lit. If you dont want any stuff like that, then just have your vertices have a single Diffuse color component, or check if you have a material being used, which also have an emmissive component which will do the same thing.
