There are only 3 reasons to like GIMP
1) You only know how to make programmer art
2) You've never used a real paint program
3) You are an OSS zealot who argues with loyalty instead of common sense
For me:
1) Indeed, but what has that to do with image-manipulation in the common sense (as in GNU Image Manipulation Program)
2) I have, and for what I need, GIMP is more appropriate, where appropriatenes includes pricing and licensing issues.
3) Counter-Argument: You are a zealot of GIMP-Hatred, maybe?
+ 4) Last not least: Any discussion on code-quality is absurd, unless someone presents me PS's sourcecode (and no, I am not bashing photoshop, I just question your statements)
Seriously, your posts are full of ignorance and highly un-related to the OT. But maybe you open a thread on GIMP-bashery, I'd be glad to discuss GIMP there with you.
Returning to topic.
Quote:*blah blah not like photoshop*
Maybe because GIMP is not Photoshop and does not intend to be? And is that not obvious to any non-crappy programmer?
Quote:So you know you are a crappy programmer when you work on GIMP.
Quote:Why doesn't the mouse wheel zoom instead of a useless vertical scroll
In GIMP, one can scroll with the scroll-wheel, and zoom in and out accurately by changing the meaning of the scrollwheel using the <ctrl>-key. The latter also works in many other GUI programs (including browsers, most source-code editors, image viewers, etc.) so I really wonder why one could not find that out himself in less then a second. Except maybe, he's a crappy programmer.
