loading time..

we just started beta test for our new game. and everyone who run game complained about loading time. it takes about 30sec~1min to load one sector. how can i shorten loading time? anyone have ideas?

You could try converting any terrain texture TGA files to JPG and change the terrain engine code to load that instead. Not sure how decoding a huge jpeg compares to loading a larger image off disk though.

Also save objects with D3D vertex buffer data in PRO Edit so it doesn''t have to calculate that again in your application.
