GetTickCount ???

Hi there I was wondering if anybody could answer a question here. I notice when I run my program that anywhere from 20-40% of my execution time is spent in GetTickCount in the Kernel32.dll (according to VTune). However, I am not calling this anywhere in my code. First I thought it might have something to do with the timeGetTime() call that I do once per frame, but when I eliminate that call completely the usage of GetTickCount is still there and I don''t notice any performance improvement. Is this something that my video driver might be doing? Or SwapBuffers? I am using OpenGL, Direct Input and DirectAudio. My video card is a Geforce 2 GTS Pro. I am not using any custom or 3rd party libraries other than these. Thanks for any insight Krippy

some times DirectX uses GetTickCount() internaly...

you should get a deeper look at your code (and how DirectX works) and see where DirectX is using internaly this function.
