Yeah, we use 45/30 also.
Jim Adams tha MAN!!! I've read your early '96 article over and over.. and you stump me every time, when it comes to how to actually plot my tiles. Would it be correct to say you only plot as a normal 2d tile engine, except every other line you offset by half?

I'm wondering for those of you out there who pre-render their GFX in a 3d render. What camera angle do you use to go well with your isometric background? I would guess x45.y45.z45 but get it so its at the south end upper corner of your 3d field. Anyone else use something different to get that right angle for their sprites, walls, objects?

Heh - it's hard for me to explain certain things clearly (especially back then)

You are correct about plotting as a normal 2d engine, just offseting the positions. The only real difference you'll notice is the coordinate system.
