Viewing planet from orbit-engine

Hello everyone! I have made a little engine that takes a map of a planet ant then shows a view from space of it. What it does is calculates texturecoordinates for each pixel, using the fact that the planet is round. I do therefor not need to use polygons, ant the transitions are smooth and nice. I use a simple arccos()-calculation for this, puts it in a array and then quickly maps using ofset-adding to make the planet rotate. But it looks odd sometimes! This is because there is no perspective-correction! Has anyone ever made anything similar? Have you managed texturecorrection? I thought about some sort of raycasting, since it doesn''t have to be to fast, but i dunno. Help, anyone? joke/dst
