Rotating axes in HUD

I want to add coordinate axes display in my opengl scene indicating the orientation when rotating camera.I can get rotating effect under perspective projection but when i get into Ortho projection i was confused on rotating.I think glOrtho2D() is used when rendering object in HUD.In general,my question is how to rotate an object in HUD.Any suggesion or codes will be appreciated.Thanks a lot!

Just rotate it the usual way. The perspective is like the lense you are using for a camera. A rotated object is a rotated object in all kinds of perspectives.
