The Mid-Point of PathFinding

Now I had done for my PathFinding ( with smoothing ) But if the distance was too long, it got much more cost in Pathfinding. I tried to do this in Mid-Point , but I have no idea how to avoid the unit to search back to his original location? any best way to solve this problem ? Thanks , and sorry for my poor English...
