hey, recenctly on this site there have been some nice articles on creating a landscape texture by blending different textures together based on height. Sounds like a good plan, but I can''t figure out how to generate a nice looking grass texture. Snow is easy, but geting nice grass is giving me a head ache. Does anyone have any ideas on how to generate nice grass textures?!?!? www.laeuchli.com/jesse/

borrow a friend''s digital camera and take a picture of grass; that works well. alternatively, you could take a normal picture of grass and scan it in...most film developers now a days will even put your pictures on cd if you want.

or if you have a 3d modeler that generates textures then just export one from there (thats what i usually do). this might work best for you actually, because the modeler can generate tilable textures for you.

I have just used paint shop pro and the spray gun tool and different shades of green through to yellow.
