DirectSound issues

Microsoft must employ people just to make documentation incomprehensible. I can get DirectSound initialized and destroyed, (I assume anyhow), but I still dont have a clue as to how to load and actually use a wave file via DirectSound. Does anyone know how to do this, or point me to somewhere that clarifies the muddied Microsoft documentation waters? Thanks!
