view matrix aint working

Hello I am having a rather weird problem. I set the View matrix when i initialize d3d and during the render, when i move around the world. The problem is that there is no movement even though the matrix is changing when i do a SetTransform, also i get the same matrix back when i do GetTransform. The view matrix is changing, but there is no movement in the world. I''ve setup both project matrices and the depth buffer. I''m using DX8. Anybody has any ideas as to what is going on here? thanks c
