OpenGL OpenGL + SDL stuck in software render

I have been looking for a number of days what would be causing my issues with OpenGL and SDL. I am creating an OpenGL window as anyone else, but I cannot for the life of me get it to use hardware renders. Everything passes through software and so runs at terrible frame rates. The strange thing is that another machine that I’ve tried the same executable on runs in hardware mode. The only real difference is that my personal machine uses Nvidia (the machine that doesn’t work) and the other machine has an ATI card. Any help at all would be appreciated.
