OpenGL+SDL+UI toolkit?

I have built a simple game engine using OpenGL and SDL. So far it can manage model and material resources as well as load in a 'map' used for positioning these objects. However, I would like to build a UI around it for map editing and project management. Right now I am using a collection of custom python scripts I wrote for Blender. My question is, would it be possible to encapsulate my existing engine within a custom widget using Gtk, WX or Qt (or something else)? I'm not too familiar with any of them but I already have Qt set up on one of my computers. I already have a system by which I can select different rendering/window management options other that SDL/OGL although they are the only choices right now so I could swap out the SDL for something else if need be but I am using a lot of the functions provided by SDL for time tracking and input handling. Any ideas?
