Directx10 Rendering sequence using Effects

Hi, lets say i have an effect file which has 1 technique that has 2 passes e.g
technique10 TechniqueOne
{
   pass PassOne
   {
   }
   
   pass PassTwo
   {
   }
}
If i have many models that will use this technique, which is better? should i group them by passes? e.g 1. Draw all models using PassOne 2. Draw all models using PassTwo Or draw each model using both pass immediately? 1. Draw one model using passOne, draw it using passTwo 2. Repeat for all model The reason i am thinking of the first method is to save on the state change from PassOne to PassTwo. I have no idea if its a good way to approach it? Thanks
