SDL_TTF Problem

I have a set of working CODE for SDL_TTF which works perfectly on my desktop, yet when I run it on my laptop it renders a white box where the string should be. It is rendering SDL_TTF into a SDL_Surface, then saving it as an opengl texture, to be rendered using opengl. The code does not change between the two computers, and the code for storing the textures in opengl works fine for loading PNGs which are rendered correctly. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the problem could be? Any ideas are welcome. It's really bugging me!

Don't mean to be a pain, but if anyone missed this and knows the answer, or can point in me in the direction of someone who might, I'd really appreciate it.

Still no luck on a fix :(
