basic gluLookAt questions..

The source below is just a sample code that I got to play around with.. the gluLookAt function is put in the reshape function.. but is the reshape function loaded when the program runs aswell? what if I want to have a button that changes the view by calling gluLookAt, wouldnt this view be changed if I resized the window?
