d3d9ex vs d3d10 resource sharing

I've been looking around on the web for information about this feature from the directx docs, regarding sharing resources between d3d9 and d3d10. However, mostly people say it is not working and I didn't get it to work either, although I am not sure I am doing it correctly. I'm now wondering if anyone out there actually managed to share a texture resource (or a surface really) between a d3d9ex device and a d3d10 device. Or is this really a non-working feature of the directx sdk? /Thank you
