I am currently deployed to Iraq (again), and I had to leave my C++ books back at home. I am still trying to learn the language, the only thing I have out here are electronic copies of some beginner C++ books, I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any beginner C++ books? I was looking at Game Programming All in One, but it seems to jump into 2d programming a little too fast. I have C++ Game Programming, however its the first edition, not the C++ Through Game Programming Edition. I also have C++ Primer Plus Fourth Edition, but not the fifth, as well as some other books. I was reading C++ A Dialog, I know its free online but I don't have the time to download each chapter off the internet. v/r Cpl Alt, Travis A 1st Battalion 7th Marines

Thinking in C++ by Bruce Eckel is a good place to start.

They're also both free to download from the site above and go from basics to advanced topics of programming with the language.
