I have an idea for a visual studio plugin that I would like to create. Are there any tutorials or websites that can get me started in creating a plugin using C++? To be specific on what I am looking for, my plugin would need to have access to the classes, functions and member variables that the user has programmed.... somewhat similar to Visual Assist X.

Can anyone tell me how I can get information about classes, functions and member variables using the VS 2008 SDK?

It depends on the language. VB .Net and c# .Net use the same code models, but c++ uses a different set.

Link to VC code model.

The c# and vb .Net one should be easy to find from here.

I will tell you from personal experience that plugins are difficult to make, so I would start simple.
