C++, openGL, and GLUT Book?

Recommended Posts

I have read alot of tutorials on c++, and have read one book on it, and now I'm starting to use GLUT and openGL. Right now I am at http://www.lighthouse3d.com/opengl/glut/index.php?2 But the problem is, I want to get a book on it, but I don't know what book I should get. Should I look for a GLUT book? A c++ game book? A openGL book? And can somebody link me to a good one?

the 'Red Book' is also another good one, plus its all online for you to read :

plus have a stab at the NeHe tutorials, they are very good:

If you are going to be making games, don't use GLUT. Start off with SDL and once you are familiar with it, move onto the Win32 API.

I would recommend once you learn the SDL API, stick with it. It's cross platform and greatly simplifies the nightmare that is the Win32 API. 99% of your code will be game focused and above the SDL/Win32 level. Pick SDL and forget about it.

Cheers,
