well i got ResEdit to create a .rc script file.. it generated a .h file on its own.. i have added both these files to my project(in the solution explorer to the left under the resources folder) Now how do i call this .rc script file in my main cpp file.. when i type "#include <resources.rc>".. it says file not found and if i type ' #include "resources.rc" 'its generating some syntax errors.. Please help.. cheers :)

Assuming .res and .rc are the same actual format, yes. You may need to rename .res to .rc in order to get VS to automatically feed it to rc.exe.

Once you've done that you'll be able to access the shared information in the header file from code and feed it to the appropriate Win32 functions necessary to actually create the objects you want.
