Hi, I need to understand how it would be possible to make a particle engine with an animated texture in hlsl. The texture would have frames of the animation, for example a fire, but my problem is that I don't know how to select the proper frames when I render the texture, maybe shifting, in some way, the texture coordinates? Regards, Shezad

Typically, you specify a shader uniform, and use it to supply the current time to the shader. Then, in the shader you would do something like this:
texcoord.y += sub_texture_size.y * (time - mod(time, frame_duration));
