Looks like a wineglass, yep. Welcome to the wonderful world of 3D modeling. :)

The GD.net forums use HTML for including images, so you should do <img src="url_to_image"> to include your image in a post.

Ok thanx.

Is DAZ3D Hexagon a good program? I think it is easyer as 3d max or Maya. But there aren't so many tutorials about Hexagon.
I've never even heard of DAZ3D Hexagon 2, and I work in the industry making 3d stuff all the time.

I would suggest 3ds max, maya, lightwave, modo or blender. Those are the main 3d apps that I see actually get used.

Umm yeah, I'm sure you've heard of DAZ's Bryce or Carrara, right? Or maybe Nendo, Mirai, Strata, Animation:Master, and Truespace... I have, and I don't work in the industry. And you kind of forgot Softimage, which is just plain ridiculous. Sorry man, I couldn't resist. You sounded kind of snotty, even if it wasn't your intention. :)

Anyway, good job the model Choconut. Did you use a lathe tool of some kind?

I came off as snotty? That wasn't my intention. I work in the industry and know many people who work in the industry (this isn't bragging, I'm merely stating this so it's understood what is actually used in the industry)

It's not that I haven't heard of most of what you have listed... it's that I haven't really seen most of those pieces of software actually being used in studios. Just because they exist doesn't mean they are being used in actual production.

Honestly the only software I've heard of from your list is Bryce, Animation Master, Truespace and Softimage. All of these seem like lowlevel variations of the software I mentioned. (except maybe softimage)

I wasn't trying to say "this is the only group of software that is ever used professionally", I was merely stating that those pieces of software are the ones I see used most frequently. It doesn't really matter what you learn with, as long as you learn. It's usually easy to transition from one piece of software to another. However, I still suggest that he tries to learn 3dsmax/Maya/Lightwave. Those are the big 3, no matter how much you use something else. Softimage might be 4th on that list, but that's about it.

All I'm trying to say is that the majority of game/television/movie studios either use Maya, Lightwave, 3ds Max and sometimes Softimage. Some smaller studios use lightwave and modo primarily. Then there are studios who have their own custom software.

Either way, having experience in maya or 3ds max on your resume is going to look a lot better to these companies than "DAZ3D Hexagon 2". That's all I'm saying.
