Hey all, im having a problem with that command.. it looks like once i set the Z distance between the object farer (glTranslatef(0,0,2), im unable to see it cuz its too far.. is there any way to increase the view range so i can see the whole model? (looks like the default range between the "camera" and the model is 1.0)

I suggest you read "The Red Book" openGL manual or reference or whatever.
If you didn't do any transformations, (glRotatie, glTranslate etc), and/or you didn't set the projection matrix, than yes, that is the default range (sort of, not good in terms)

You set this when you set up your camera, it should be "far plane" value or z far or something in gluOrtho.
