glTranslatef Problem(for me)
Hey all, im having a problem with that command..
it looks like once i set the Z distance between the object farer (glTranslatef(0,0,2), im unable to see it cuz its too far.. is there any way to increase the view range so i can see the whole model?
(looks like the default range between the "camera" and the model is 1.0)
I suggest you read "The Red Book" openGL manual or reference or whatever.
If you didn't do any transformations, (glRotatie, glTranslate etc), and/or you didn't set the projection matrix, than yes, that is the default range (sort of, not good in terms)

You set this when you set up your camera, it should be "far plane" value or z far or something in gluOrtho.
but i am using glRotatef and besides, i want to render a whole 3d map, and as it looks, i see the most of the leasons that already included better camera range, but i seem like cant find the right command to do that.. any1 can help me with that?
i cant see anything behind 1.0 of camera range.. thats sux =/

you can have an infinate range but its a little more complicated
