Use a font that is not installed

Is there anyway to use a font that is not installed on the current system with D3DXCreateFont? For example I have the font in my games resource directory, is there a way to tell directx that this is the font to use?

You could use AddFontResourceEx() with a FR_PRIVATE argument, which will automatically removed the font when the process terminates.
