How to set Texture drawn background

Hi I am drawing a texture thoush four vertices and set a transparent bitmap(bmp)file as the texture. Now Texture is drawn successfully but with Black color as background. How to set the background of the texture drawn as we wish. Please guide me. Thanks.

When you set the texture as your render target, how are you clearing your surface? You should be clearing the surface with the background color you wish your texture to be.

Bitmap textures do not have an alpha channel - that may be the problem? Unless you are doing an explicit colour replace during conversion to .xnb (if you are doing a conversion to .xnb) the alpha channel of the texture will always be opaque, hence your transparent bitmap will not be transparent. Maybe try using a .png instead with an alpha channel?
