MAP file format

Chris, have you ever thought of using just the plain text of the MAP file? I know this does not have all of the collision information compiled like a BSP, but it could be compiled fairly easily and without use of any of IDs tools. You also mentioned that you prefer BSP over portals. What is your reasoning behind this. I am not challenging your decision; just trying to tap into some of the knowledge that you have aquired on these subjects. Robb
