shadow mapping acknes
hi,
I have very common problem with well know shadow mapping ackne and I read some solutions on this forum, but I'm still confused.
first take a look:

some of you suggested to try manipulate with "bias" and "offset" values. So I tried using glPolygonOffset with many configurations, but it only helped with floor - torus is still ugly. Then I tried to use extension glPolygonOffsetEXT, but i realized that I dont have this extension (gf 8600 GT). Last thing I did was adding some value in fragment program to shadow map texel (this is bias or offset?).
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong..

The first picture's issue can be solved, as you said by altering bias matrix, or polygon offset.
The second, I think it's just you are using too low resolution shadow map.
