Need help in LightmapGeneration

The coolest thing that goes with lightmaps is unique texturing, like in rage.
Then making your lightmaps is a lot easier because you dont have memory issues.

Since lightmapping already generates unique texturing, whether or not you combine it with unique texturing of the rest of the world doesn't matter

Also, depending on your choice of texture format, baking lighting information into the color texture can introduce lots of nasty banding and other compression artifacts.
