Hello Guys. I am a musician who wants to get into the gaming industry. I did a lot of sound design jobs, but mainly for my own music. any good advice on how should i start? I'm also looking to collaborate with some game developers, so i can build some portfolio. so if you find this interesting, or have any idea for me, I'll be super Thankful

Check the stickies. There are many helpful links like:

http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=502632

Tons of reading material there. Other than that, post specific questions that don't get answered and I'm sure someone will do their best to answer it.

Thanks,

Nate
