How to have quad polygon zoomed to max in view

I have a textured quad. Nothing fancy. I though there was a way to set up some kind of identity matrix, or something...to always guarantee that quad takes up whole view of window.. I want the guarantee quad to be "maxed" in view, facing window (obviously)... How do I do that?
